Minna Thomas Antrim
(1861-1950)
Antrim wrote nine books for the
Jester Life series. Each book contains a number of pithy aphorisms. The

There is an inscription from Antrim in this copy of The Wisdom of the
Foolish and The Folly of the Wise “A little nonsense now and then is
relished by the best of men” and women- M. J. A. Christmas 1919.
Minna Thomas Antrim
She was born in Philadelphia and educated at St. Mary’s Hall in New
Jersey. She is known for her numerous quotes and sayings, many of which
appeared in her Altemus published books. Perhaps her best known quote
is: Experience is a great teacher, but she sends in terrific bills.
