Tan cloth. Front cover's top half has the title in black letters while
the bottom half has a pictorial multicolored book appropriate picture
which matches one of the internal illustrations which are found on
every page. The earlier brown uncoated dust jackets are pre-1915. The
later
white dust jackets are 1915 or later. 8.25 x 6.25.
Determining the edition:
First edition:
1. Full cover applique (paste-on) on the front cover which matches an
internal illustration.
2. There is a green line surrounding the front cover cover applique.
3. The frontispiece is on grey paper.
4. The spine title reads from bottom to top.
Second edition:
1. Cover illustration is directly on the cloth. It is not an applique
(paste-on)
Third Edition
1. There is a full cover applique (paste-on) without the green border.
2. Spine reads from top to bottom.
3. At the bottom of the copyright page it states: Printed in the United
States of America. This is a post-1922 indicator.
Series Notes:
1. Pages have rhymes and pictures. Within each picture is a hidden
object which the reader is challenged to find.
2. Books published in or after 1922 have "Printed in the United States
of America" at the bottom of the copyright page.
