Cloth. Cover has a book appropriate applique with a multi colored
illustration. Spine flower is the same as in Format 3 but without any
color. Dust jacket matches the book cover or the frontispiece in most
but not all the titles. 6.5 x 5.0.
Series Notes:
1. The numbering in this format is the same as that seen in Format 3.
2. Despite the 10 year run of this format these books are somewhat
uncommon.
3. The ads in the back of the book are not much help with dating. There
are three patterns.
a. Wee Books ads go to Grunty Grunts-Outdoors 1921
b. Wee Books ads list to I Don't Want To Go To Bed -1923
c. Wee Books ads list to Little Black Sambo and the Baby Elephant-1925
Unfortunately it appears these listings were used randomly.
4. Mismatched books with this format's dust jacket but Format 3 books
have been seen. |
