Photographic Album

This album does not belong to any of the styles listed previously. It is 5.75″ x 8″. There are 41 pages and has the loose-leaf extension back. Some pages may have been removed. I suspect it is either style number 400 or 500, the details of which are unknown.

Question & Answer Series 143 Petit Trianon Series

Q: This book has been in our family, apparently since 1903, judging by the note on the flyleaf. I wondered if it might be a first edition, but I don’t see any publishing information inside. After the inscribed flyleaf is the title page: “EVANGELINE, A TALE OF ACADIE.” On the back of the title page is a biography of Longfellow, and the poem begins on the following page. Just wondering if you could tell me the year of publication and whether it is a first edition. Thanks for your help. Photos attached.

A: Your book is part of the Petit Trianon Series. This cover format was published in 1903-1904.
It originally came within a labeled box.
It is a reprint.

Ledger/Blank Book

This ledger is 12″ x 6″ and has about 150 pages. Some entrees are dated 1906.
This is the third of these Altemus “Blank books” I have seen.
