soldier standing to the left of rectangular box within which is the

symbol. The lettering is either in white, silver or red. The dust
jacket matches the book cover. 7.5 x 5.5.
Series Notes:
1. Books #5 and 6 were never published. They are listed in various
advertisements between 1901-1905.
2. Between 1907-1908 these books were part of the Little Men and
Women's Series (#125).
3. These books are very difficult to date because mostly they have no
ads in the back and the advertisement for the series opposite of the
title page is not always helpful.
Here are some basic dating parameters:
1. The 1901 books are the first editions
and are
the only books that have 50 cents listed as the price. They are rare.
2. The only two years that the price was
60 cents
were 1907-1908.
3. The latest books only list 4 titles in
the front
advertisement.
4. The books of later 1901 are the first
to list 75
cents as the price.
Although the catalogues note that from 1902 and on the price was $1.00
(except for 1907-1908), the ads in the book were not all changed from
75 cents. Thus the pricing cannot be used to date the earliest books.
