A: Hello,
Your book is part of the Vademecum Series and was published in 1896. As with all of the titles in this series, it is a reprint. This book originally came within a labeled box.

During the 1896 publication year the titles in this series were published with several different color covers. Some are shown below.

It has nominal value.

Question and Answer Series 143 Petit Trianon Series

Q: Hello, I have Bracebridge Hall, but, some of the pages, i think, are missing. I would like to know how old the book is. It looks a bit faded, and, not in pristine condition. Thanks, in advance for any info.

A: This book is part of the Petit Trianon Series.

This format was published in 1903-1904. During this year the left side of the covers were published wit a picture of a pedestal in either white, blue or pink. On the right there is a picture of one of sixteen flower pictures.

Originally it was published in a labeled box.

Series 82 Ever New Books for Young People

This sixteen title series was published in 1916. Except for their size (slightly larger) and the horizontal pattern noted on the bottom of the front cover, the books are identical to the same titles which are in the Young People’s Library, Format 3.

Today I am adding a new cover to the pictures of this series. These books are quite scarce.

A Mimic’s Calendar by Minna Thomas Antrim 1904

The contents consist of calendar pages (each page has one week of dates) with pithy aphorisms opposite of a page “memoranda” which is blank and designed as a note page. Each calendar page has a picture designed/drawn by the Decorative Designers’ firm.

This title was published in two formats: cloth and ooze calf. The cloth cost 50 cents whereas the ooze calf book cost $1.00 and came within a labeled box.

Series 143 Petit Trianon Series

This long running publisher’s series (1896-1910) changed the cover design almost on a yearly basis. All of the titles are reprints.

In 1899 the cover had decorative plants with gold circular flowers. Because the flowers look like coins, I have designated this cover the “coin” cover.

Today I am adding a new cover. This is the 28th different decorative pattern noted on the right half of the cover. These books all originally came within a labeled box. A representative box is shown.
