The first format of this 41 book series is quite interesting. In the early 1890’s and in the later various publisher’s series the books all had the same decorated cover for any given format. In this series each format 1 book had a different cover. The covers are decorated with gold or silver gilt. Because of a one-two year publishing window most of these titles in this format are scarce. The later books (#33-41) were only published in 1895-1896. They are very hard to find.
