Here is an 1847 product of the Altemus bindery. Altemus did the binding for many local Philadelphia publishers including E. H. Butler. This book is a bit unusual as the binding is signed “Altemus” on the spine.

The 1850 and 1851 Leaflets of Memory, also published by E. H. Butler, were bound by Altemus.
