This story first appeared in a six part serialized version in the 1910 Saturday Evening Post (January 22, 1910 to February 26, 1910).

The first Altemus edition was published in 1910. The bottom of the copyright page of the early edition of this book does not say “Printed in the United States of America”. Only books published after 1922 have that phrase.
