The Young People’s Library series was published between 1895 and 1933. During this time frame there were four different formats published. In most instances within each format the same title had a number of cover variants printed–generally the variations are in differing color patterns. Each format can easily be distinguished by its spine. Format 2 which was published between 1898 and 1902 has the spine shown below.

Today I am adding a variant cover for book #39 Alexander the Great. This book and an earlier version are shown below. (The new book to the database has a bluish cover).
