Q: I have a Treasure Island book and cannot find it in your website. If you could give me some information that would be greatly appreciated.
A: Your book is part of the Vademecum Series and was published in 1912-1913.
In this year the covers had one of several different colors.
It is a reprint as are all of the books in this publisher’s series.

Q: Researching my collection of literature I came up on Minister of the World by Caroline Mason 1899 edition published by Henry altemus company. I'm having difficulty finding this copy. How many different copies for year was there? Any info would be great. Thank you.

Altemus kept no records of the number of volumes of any particular format or title. Your book is a 1903 publication in the Vademecum Series. It is a reprint with nominal value.

Q: Can you tell me anything about this book? (Rip Van Winkle) When printed and such. I can't find it on the internet anywhere. Don't know what it is worth. The woman who get it wrote that it was given to her in 1911. Thanks

Q: I have just received a lovely book undated, printed by Henry Altemus Company of "The Rubaiyat of Omar Khayyam". The introduction is by John Hay, with an illustration believed to be by Gilbert James: "A jug of wine, a loaf of bread and thou".
If possible I would love to know the date of publication and any other information you may have.

A: Yes. Your book was published as part of the Vademecum Series in 1907. During that year books had a number of different colors and applique pictures but the cover template was the same.

Q: Hello, I rescued this poor book (Lady of the Lake) at an antique shop but it has not been cared for so the publication date page is missing.
I looked on your site and saw other like it but not this one. Could this possibly be from the 1907 Vademecum series?

Q: I found a copy of a book published by Henry Altemus Publishing on my mother's bookshelf. She was an avid reader. She left her books to me.
The title of the book is, "Black Beauty." I can't find a publishing date or a Series # to find out its value.
